Kämna loses mountain jersey to Bouwman

In the final sprint of a quartet, the 28-year-old from the Jumbo-Visma team in Potenza prevailed in front of his compatriot Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) and the Italian Davide Formolo (UAE Team Emirate). Fourth completed Bouwman's teammate Tom Dumoulin the excellent result of the Dutch on the 196 -kilometer stage with four climbs. Mollema had started the decisive attack around 8.5 kilometers before the finish.

Lennard Kämna from the German Team Bora-Hansgrohe led the group of pursuers and won the sprint for sixth place, but lost his mountain jersey to Bouwman's stage winner.

There were no major changes in the overall classification: the pink jersey continues to wear Juan Pedro Lopez from the Team Trek-Segafredo. The Spaniard is 38 seconds ahead of the second -placed comb.

The eighth stage on Saturday with start and finish in Naples is 153 km long. A 19 km long circuit with some climbs must be completed four times. The Giro ends after 3410 km on May 29 in Verona.
