'Guns' CEO Joong -pil Cho Kakao Games omni -investment

[Onion Crew Moon Young-soo] Kakao Games has invested in the new development studio of Cho Joong-pil, who created the Guns series. It is noted that it shows an omnidirectional investment in domestic and foreign promising developers.

According to the game industry on the 6th, Kakao Games (CEO Cho Gye-hyun) invested 1 billion won in Onion Crew in March of this year. Onion Crew is a developer founded by former CEO Jo Joong-pil.

Mr. Cho is a developer who was famous for his third-person shooting (TPS) action game Guns, which was released in 2004. Guns attracted attention with stylish action productions such as various technologies such as dash, dumbling, and walls using walls, and aerial action such as swords and air combo using firearms. Mr. Cho has since launched Raders in 2012 and Guns 2 in 2014.

Wounded Onion Crew is currently developing a new shooting genre. Detailed gameplay has not been disclosed, but it is expected to contain accumulated know-how while developing the Guns series. It is likely to be published through Kakao Games later. Kakao Games explained that it has been investing in promising new developers.

Meanwhile, Kakao Games continues to invest in domestic and foreign game companies in addition to Onion Crew. The company has invested in Neptune, XL Games, Ad Ax, Second Dive, Ocean Drive, Wei-Twobit, Nine Arc, Reality Magic, Sena Technology, and Hangin. He also made an investment with the global game company, Playables Walls and Frost Giant Studio.

Kakao Games also showed extraordinary pioneers, including investing in Craepon in 2016, before the launch of Battleground, and investing 5 billion won in Lion Heart Studio, which created 'Odin: Valar Rising' in 2018. In particular, after Odin: After the hit of Valar Rising, it invested a large sum of KRW 1.2 trillion in Lion Heart Studio, attracting 54.95%of its stake.
